That’s also how it grabs you as you slowly find yourself getting more and more enticed by it. That’s one of the convenient things about Order & Chaos 2: Redemption - its learning curve is smooth and welcoming. Virtual buttons control what attacks you perform, as well as interacting with objects and it’s all fairly straight forward. Neither method is foolproof with the latter sometimes proving cumbersome and the former leading to your finger obscuring so much, but it’s workable. You can either opt to drag a finger around as a kind of invisible joystick or you can tap on the screen to run to that particular place. You navigate the world through a choice of control methods. Working much like World of Warcaft, quests are your best route to levelling up and while the storyline is a little simplistic, it should keep you suitably interested. You’re given the choice of five races, five classes, and a veritable feast of upgradeable equipment to negotiate. Order & Chaos 2: Redemption is worth any such hassle though. It also made my iPhone impressively hot to the touch which was unusual. Given how fancy Order & Chaos 2: Redemption looks, that makes sense but it might infuriate after a time. A bit of stuttering and a little lag is a sharp reminder that the iPhone 5 isn’t as powerful as it once was.
One thing to note very early on is that if, like me, you’re still lumbered with an iPhone 5, Order & Chaos 2: Redemption is going to seem a little creaky. There’s a plethora of content to sink your teeth into.
Building upon what worked well for the original, it’s a substantial MMO that doesn’t push you into in-app purchases (although the option is always there). Order & Chaos 2: Redemption is a rather gorgeous looking MMORPG.
